  • An international bicycling team of 5 cyclists and 2 support personnel -- 4 Indians, 2 Americans, 1 Canadian

  • Cycling 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometers) over 6 weeks

  • Pedaling an average of 100 kilometers (62 miles) per day

  • Route: Nagercoil and Kaniyakimari (southern tip of India) on the Indian Ocean to New Delhi, the nation's capital; main route: National Highway 7; traveling thru: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Agra, New Delhi

  • Ride dates: December 30, 2006 - February 8, 2007

  • Major stop: Visit and tour of Umri Christian Hospital, Umri, District Yavatmal, Maharashtra

  • Goal: raise $600,000 to rebuild Umri Christian Hospital

  • Team budget: $25,000

  • Team is raising awareness in North America and in Indian communities along the route
