History of the Church
Seeing the Hispanic population growing around the West Morris Street Free Methodist Church, members of the congregation began to pray, and a vision grew for a Hispanic ministry that would function in connection with the West Morris Street Church.

Under the direction of Pastor Mark Van Valin, the church continued in prayer around this vision. As a result, two years later, a Hispanic church began under the leadership of Pastor Nicolás Estrella.

On September 9, 2001 the vision and prayers became a reality in the first service of Comunidad Cristiana. Forty people attended that day to become a part of the new Hispanic church.

Mission of the Church
Comunidad Cristiana exists to fulfill the great commission to worship God and to reach lost people and disciple new believers in the Hispanic community in Indianapolis.

Vision of the Church
The vision of Comunidad Cristiana is to go into the Hispanic homes of Indianapolis with the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ. Through home bible study, prayer, and meeting the needs of the family, the church seeks to build individual families as they connect with the church family. In this way, Comunidad Cristiana builds one community of solid interpersonal relationships, which reflect the love of Christ in all areas of life.

What the Church Believes
Comunidad Cristiana is a church that believes in the power of prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit of God to transform lives. We have seen that when people pray, God answers their prayer.
