"Life Together"
describes the vital sustaining realtionships
and ways of expressing Christian education,
encouragement, service and outreach of the body
of Christ. We are the church as we gather
on Sundays for worship and Christian education.
We are also the church as we scatter
across the metropolitan area throughout the
week. Biblical Christianity calls on those who
come to faith through Jesus Christ to incarnate--or
enflesh or make real in life--the presence and
compassion of Jesus in all our relationships
and spheres of influence.
"Ministries,"
which simply means "services," are
some of the focused ways we currently express
part of our Life Together. Some ministries are
focused inward--to care for, educate,
and empower those who are already a part of
the community of faith. Some ministries are
focused outward--to express Christ's
compassion and care for neighbors who have not
yet come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Our menu of ministries
with children, youth and adults is not exhaustive.
It just expresses what we currently have organized
into more "regular" expressions of
service. Many small but significant acts of
care, encouragement, and compassion are expressed
by participants of WEMO on a daily basis. We
invite you to explore the listed ministries;
we hope you'll find a place of participation
and service. Or, maybe you'll be inspired to
start something new!
