Morning Worship - Sunday - 10:30 a.m. - Sanctuary

Morning Worship is the focal point of our community of faith. We gather on the first day of the week in the Sanctuary to worship God together, offering God the first and best of our lives. We sing both traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music in praise of God's redeeming love. We pray together, opening our altar rails each Sunday for anyone to kneel for supported prayer. Children are invited to the front of the Sanctuary for a story by our Pastor. We give, worshiping God by presenting tithes and offerings that make possible both local ministry and global outreach. We explore the Word of God together and respond to it by making personal decisions for change, growth, and service. We go--our benediction (usually by 12:00 noon) sends us outside the walls of the Sanctuary to engage our world in compassionate service and incarnational witness. The Free Methodist Church worships in the "free church" tradition, following a simple pattern of public worship that invites full participation of all who attend.

A volunteer-staffed nursery and preschool room are available on Sunday mornings. A Cry room and nursing room for parents with infants are also available. Children K through 4th grade may participate in Junior Worship after the Offertory each Sunday. Electronic assisted listening devices are available at our Hospitality Center in the main foyer. WEMO is handicap accessible and has elevator access to the Lower Level.

WEMO occasionally celebrates the sacraments of the Lord's Supper and Christian Baptism during Morning Worship. The Free Methodist Church offers an "Open Communion," meaning that membership in this congregation is not required for participation in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. All who sincerely confess that "Jesus is Lord" may share in our times of Communion. Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

Thru the Bible Study - Sunday - 6:00 p.m. - Chapel Conference Room

Dr. Steve Strange leads a "Thru the Bible" study on most Sunday evenings. Beginning with Genesis, Steve has been working through the Bible at the rate of a chapter a week. This hour-long gathering is open to all and you can engage the exploration of the Word at anytime. Steve is a gifted teacher and lover of God. This Bible study meets September thru May.

Coffeehouse - Wednesday - 6:15-8:00 pm - East End

Hosted by Pastor Mike Conkle and Anna Shepherd, Coffeehouse is a weekly gathering and opportunity for Christian conversation for adults. Coffeehouse obviously makes available a range of flavored coffees and teas, along with pastries and some homemade snacks. Coffeehouse is open at the same time that children participate in Christian Life Club and youth participate in The Underground, so it's especially convienent for parents. Mike Conkle leads a Word-centerd conversation during the Coffeehouse hour and often folks pray for and encourage one another. Coffeehouse is located at the east end of our facility; enter either via the Office entrance or Pershing & Morris St. entrance. Come for the coffee, stay for the fellowship.

Body Builders - occasional gatherings

Body Builders are intended to be opportunities for the Body of Christ (the church) to gather for encouragement, equipping, informing, reflecting, and growing together. Body Builders are not regularly scheduled, but please check for an upcoming Body Builders gathering via our Life Together on West Morris Street e-journal or our Calendar.
