About
Our Church
West Morris Street Free Methodist Church, sometimes affectionately
called "WEMO," is a diverse and vibrant congregation.
Our facilities are located near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana,
along Morris Street on the near Westside of the city. WEMO
has been serving here for 90 years. People
who participate in West Morris Street Free Methodist
Church
come from all over the metropolitan area with a commitment
to express service in this particular urban neighborhood.
We proclaim Good News and serve our neighbors through
prayer,
worship, discipleship, service, compassion, and outreach.
"Free" Methodists began in 1860 with a commitment
to be pointedly accessible to the poor, to labor for the personal
and spiritual freedom of all people, and to encourage a simple
Christian lifestyle--free of formalism, legalism, and materialism.
Given our present-day challenges, it's an inspiring heritage. We want to continue in that spirit to train people
to serve, to be responsive to the needs of neighbors, and
to teach and preach a clear message of salvation and freedom
from sin by the power of Jesus Christ. We look to God's Word
to guide us to become the kind of people who reflect Christ's
character and compassion. If we had to tell you quickly what we're committed to, it
is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength,
and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We invite you to visit us and find out more about WEMO. Our
hearts and lives are open to you. Return to the
