Read Genesis 50:15-21 where God’s goodness is shown
The first five books of the Bible are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The are sometimes called the “Torah”. In the Torah we meet the “patriarchs” and “matriarchs” of our faith. Many of their names may be familiar to you - Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Rebecca, and Joseph.
Did you read the story in Genesis 50 about Joseph? It has a beautiful statement of how God works in our lives - especially with the difficult and painful circumstances. Joseph tells his brothers who had sold him into slavery, “Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good!”
How do you relate to Joseph’s experience? How have people intended to harm you? And how has God used it for good in your life? What tough experiences are you in the middle of right now that you still need God to use for his good?
