Read 1 Corinthians 12 about the gifts of the Holy Spirit
Did you make it through today’s reading? Maybe you could divide it up and take turns reading it. This reading would also make a great thing to act out for those who might not yet be old enough to read!
The Holy Spirit gives gifts to all of us. These gifts include prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhortation, giving, leading, and compassion. Every person who follows Jesus receives at least one of these gifts. Which gifts have you received? Which gifts have you noticed in each other? (Sometimes we notice other people’s gifts faster than we notice our own, so take some time to share with each other what gifts you notice in each other.)
When we use the gifts the Holy Spirit gives us, the world is changed for good. Sometimes how we act in the world is surprising - and may even seem silly to others who don’t yet know God. How have you seen God’s gifts used for good? Have you felt “silly” sometimes serving God and doing things differently than your friends who don’t know Jesus?
